Stop & Shop: Community Store Exploratory
Challenge: Stop & Shop wanted to implement a new community store model focused on generating positive health outcomes from healthy eating and nutrition education initiatives. The initiative included hiring a nutritionist and remodeling the store.
Objectives: To better understand how health and diet impact grocery shopping habits and explore potential initiatives of a “Community Store” shopping experience to optimize the rollout of these efforts.
Solution: Online focus groups among Spanish and English-speaking Stop & Shop shoppers representing a geographical mix across the store’s footprint in lower income markets.
Results: Results from this study helped guide and optimize offerings for implementation of the Stop & Shop “Community store”.
