Challenge: Techno Source, an internationally based creator of electronic toys and games has partnered with Plan-it on several occasions to uncover critical learning in terms of product viability/development, communications development and market profiling/segmentation.

Objective: To identify the overall viability of a variety of new product ideas and assess relative interest among appropriate kid and teen targets.

Solution: In one case, Plan-it conducted a quantitative market profile and segmentation study to profile the optimal LCD game target audience(s), their purchasing and playing behavior, and which products/product attributes are most relevant.

Result: Findings provided an in-depth understanding of key consumers’ attitudes toward usage of handheld games along with identifying and profiling key segments in the marketplace, to drive future product and licensing decisions. Learnings from the segmentation study provided direction for targeting segments within the LCD games category that offer the greatest opportunity for the Techno Source offering and suggestions for driving future product and licensing decisions.
